David Fincher Planning New "Heavy Metal"


Director David Fincher is pushing forward with an animated anthology feature film based on the 70s sci-fi fantasy magazine "Heavy Metal" for Paramount Pictures says Variety.The R-rated, adult-themed film will consist of eight or nine individual animated segments, each of which will be directed by a different director.Fincher will direct one of the segments, Kevin Eastman ("TMNT"), and Tim Miller will do another each whilst all three will produce. PRevious animated features based on the property were released in 1981 and 2000.The mag famously blended dark fantasy/science fiction and erotica with high-quality artwork by acclaimed artists and writers like Harlan Ellison and H.R. Giger.
