The first box office casualty of the summer came this weekend as "Speed Racer" crashed and burned at the box office. "Speed Racer" opened with a devastating and disappointing $20.2 Million. "Speed Racer", with a budget of approximately $160 million dollars, placed second behind last week's box office champion, "Iron Man".
Warner Bros. will now have to pin their summer's box office success on "The Dark Knight" which opens on July 18th.

2. NEW – Speed Racer (Warner Bros) - $20.2M
3. NEW – What Happens in Vegas (Fox) - $17.6M
4. Made of Honor (Sony) - $7.29M
5. Baby Mama (Universal) – $5.57M
